For over 20 years, Dr. Sherman has been at the forefront of the practice of body contouring. He was an early proponent of less invasive treatment options, firmly believing that these approaches provide better health and cosmetic results for his patients. He developed his specialty in natural fat transfer under the guidance of Dr. Kotaro Yoshimura, the world’s foremost expert on natural breast augmentation, in Tokyo, Japan.

As Chief Medical Officer of Avanti Laser Skin & Lipo Clinics, Dr. Sherman oversees the qualification, selection, credentialing, training and management of all Avanti physicians. Dr. Sherman is board certified in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery and otolaryngology/head and neck surgery. He is a diplomat of the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery, Founder of the California Academy of Cosmetic Surgery, past president of the American Society of Cosmetic Breast Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Sherman is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Surgery and Facial Plastic Surgery at the UC San Diego Medical Center and Veterans Hospital in La Jolla. He also regularly donates his time and services to victims of domestic violence through the About Face Program.
